Return to Blackheath

‘Ballymont’ is a perfect getaway for families and small group. It is a 7 acre property with four bedrooms, sleeping up to 12 people and it is only few minutes

drive from Blackheath along the Shipley Plateau two hours drive from Sydney CBD. The residence is private, screened behind a high wall of brush fencing

and solid iron gates, opposite Logan Brae the oldest apple orchard in the district.

The grounds are comprised of well established gardens and lawns with old growth Willows , Oaks, Elms and other exotic trees. There is an in ground swimming pool, horse paddocks and stables and a large selection of chickens providing our guests with fresh free range eggs.

The residence is large, accommodating up to 12 people and yet retains a sense of intimacy. There are reverse cycle heating and cooling systems, heat banks, and in the main lounge, a large roaring log fire. Shipley Plateau, much like the Megalong Valley which it overlooks, is a unique environment. At its southern most extreme, it has two lookouts; Hargraves Lookout and the fabulous view into the Kanimbla Valley from Mt Blackheath. Here on a clear day, the hang gliders gather to ride the wind. There are picnic facilities at both locations.

While at ‘Ballymont’, we can offer you a trail ride by horse back or lessons, which is a 15 minute drive from the property at the end of the road. Just ask when you book and we can organise the horse riding for you.

On the other hand, you may simply choose to relax and have us provide you with a range of culinary delights from homemade pizzas, winter soups, casseroles, homemade jams, muesli’s, biscuits, cakes and deserts.

On arrival you will always find something specially prepared to welcome you and set the tone for your relaxing time at ‘Ballymont’.
