Gunya Titjikala offers an ultimate authentic experience of being a guest within a remote Aboriginal Simpson Desert community. Their programs provide a rare opportunity to experience and share the rich culture, teachings, art and history of one of the oldest living cultures in the world, Australia’s first people, a truly insightful and realistic view of indigenous people, their families and their communities.
Included in your tariff are three delicious meals personally prepared by the Gunya Titjikala’s resident chef. Local ‘bush tucker’ is also available which include witchetty grubs, kangaroo, wild fruits and berries.
Gunya Tourism has formed a joint venture with the traditional Aboriginal community, Titjikala, to provide authentic indigenous experiences for tourists and to provide indigenous employment opportunities for locals within their remote environment. Fifty percent of profits are placed into the Titjikala Community Foundation, where proceeds are focused on health, education and school retention initiatives.
