Muloorina Station - Marree
From $ 10.0 to $ 10.0
Muloorina Station is private, and the owners request that campers not disturb them unless there is an emergency.
You can find a camp site right by the water: a little oasis filled with green reeds. Within a matter of a few hours you might see brolgas (a breeding pair with an immature offspring), brown kites, white-faced herons, a great egret, corellas, galahs, budgies, swifts, and a number of other birds.
This is bush camping, however there are toilets, table and seat sets around the camp site.
There are two charges for camping: Camp costs $8 per car per night and a further $2 donation for the Royal Flying Doctors Service (remember who comes out if you get in trouble). An honesty box is available on site.
There is no requirement to pre-book camp sites though the property does experience an influx of campers during peak times.
Campers need to respect the property and should take their rubbish with them.
Accommodation quarters, including a couple of free standing houses are available to travellers however they are often being utilised by workers from the near by mining community so bookings in advance are necessary.
Muloorina Station is a 400,000 square hectare property. The owners run 10,000 sheep and 2,000 cattle on it.
