Amberley House offers elegant bed and breakfast four-star accommodation in Sandy Bay, Hobart.

The owner is 30-something and you can tell: there’s no lace, no artificial flowers and definitely no doilies. However, you have access to free wireless broadband, and espresso coffee is served at breakfast.

Amberley House has river views and across parkland views to Mount Wellington. The house is a grand mansion (circa 1890s) offering a range of room types.

All rooms have mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities and television. There are guest laundry facilities, a lounge and off-street parking. The House is smoke-free.

Amberley House is set in grounds bordering Queenborough Oval, close to the Royal Hobart Yacht Club, Wrest Point Hotel and Convention Centre and the University of Tasmania.

Sandy Bay is just a five-minute drive away and you can explore Battery Point and Salamanca, Mount Wellington, Cascade Brewery, Cadburys, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, and wonderful Georgian and Art Deco architecture. You can also visit Saturday’s Salamanca Market, the wine regions of the Coal River Valley and the Huon, or head to Port Arthur Historic Site, historic Richmond, Tahune Forest Airwalk, Peppermint Bay restaurant and Bruny Island, and New Norfolk with its many antique shops.
