Mt Lyell Motor Inn, comfortable, good value, hotel accommodation in Queenstown, on Tasmania’s west coast. Offering 40 ensuite rooms with quality furnishings, 25 rooms have reverse-cycle air conditioning. There are four family rooms.

The Mt Lyell boasts the town’s most popular restaurant with quality affordable meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. It also has a Cocktail Bar, Gaming Room and Public Bar.

The Mt Lyell is Independently owned, and is located in the centre of Queenstown, the major services and shopping centre of the West Coast. You can take a mine tour, have fun on a four-wheel drive tour, and go bushwalking or fish at spectacular Lake Burbury.

Mt Lyell is close to the Abt Railway Station in central Queenstown, departure point for Tasmania's reconstructed West Coast Wilderness Railway.

It’s one of the world's great railway journeys, running between Queenstown and Strahan, through the spectacular rainforest gorge of the King River. The West Coast Wilderness Railway Abt locomotives, named after their inventor, use a unique rack-rail system to climb the steep grades.

45 minutes away are wild ocean beaches, magnificent rainforest and the charming historic fishing village of Strahan with cruises on the beautiful Gordon River
