Abbey's Cottage (3) - Stanley

Abbey's Cottage offers self-contained accommodation at Stanley, on Tasmania’s north west coast. Stanley is a ninety-minute drive west of Devonport (127 kilometres) and an hour from Burnie (78 kilometres).

Abbey’s Cottage is a restored 19th-century home, surrounded by a shady porch and cottage garden. The Cottage has a queen-size main bedroom, double bedroom and third, twin-share room. The bathroom features a deep, original bath with a separate shower, and there is a fully-equipped laundry and separate toilet. On cooler evenings you can relax in the living area beside the wood heater and enjoy a glass of complimentary port. This room also has a television, DVD and CD player, books and games. Abbey’s Cottage is decorated throughout with antiques and there are sea views from the fully-equipped kitchen, lounge and upstairs bedroom—which also features charming attic windows. Breakfast provisions are supplied.

You can swim or walk at nearby beaches or visit Stanley’s shops and cafes. A dramatic geological feature of the area is the Nut. Discovered by explorers Bass and Flinders in 1798, this 152m high rock outcrop is the stump of an ancient volcano. You can climb to the top, or take the chairlift to enjoy breathtaking ocean views.
