Although it's only an hour s drive from the heart of Melbourne to Gembrook, these luxury garden cottages, loved for their air of romance are a magical destination in the Dandenong Ranges.

'The Harem' whisks you away to an Arabian oasis. The open plan cottage with soaring windows and leadlight door, has a four-poster bed swathed in drapes and veils. Sumptuous soft furnishings and the sunken double spa seal the deliciously romantic mood.

'Bluebells' is an enchanting boudoir with antique-crystal bed lights and a four-poster bed draped in silk and muslin with cushions a plenty.

There is nothing of the traditional cottage decor inside, instead you'll find a lilac and Mediterranean blue open-plan cottage with stunning soft furnishings, leadlight windows and door with the large indoor/outdoor jacuzzi seen through blue twinkling beads from the four poster bed.

These seperate themed cottages have high gabled tin roofs, cathedral ceilings, leadlight windows/doors, intimate spas, wood fires, four poster queen-beds, TV, DVD, CD players with remote controls, original paintings, stunning soft furnishings, kitchens with full facilities, outdoor table and many surprises.

Breakfast ingredients are tucked away, for you to cook at your leisure. For that extra special touch, in cottage massages, and deluxe packages are available.

Soak in the atmosphere of this little country hamlet, walk to shops, parks, tearooms, cafes, and Puffing Billy, it is all on the doorstep! The cottages are ideally placed for making the most of the region. Trout and yabby farms.

Berry picking season December to March. Horse riding. Pack a picnic and make the trip aboard Puffing-Billy to Emerald Lake or Belgrave.

The Bunyip State Forest, and Kurth Kiln, offer sensational walking trails. Visit local wineries, or the Yarra Vally wineries, Healesville Santuary/Maze, all within easy driving distance.
