Cobar Regional Museum - Cobar
Take a trip back in time, a voyage that will take you to the very beginning
of Aboriginal history in Australia, through to the European settlement of
Australia.
Exhibitions include: Aboriginal culture and bush tucker, bush skills and
ingenuity in making do, washing, homemade soap, growing up in Cobar, domestic
life and leisure activities at home, the bush kitchen and the skills of so
many anonymous women in coping with the distance from shops and the problems
of keeping food fresh in hot summers, the growth of Cobar and the way the
streetscape has changed with improvements in transport, building technology
and the introduction of air-conditioning.
Facilities: The museum offers tourist information, museum shop, toilets,
picnic areas, ample parking for cars and coaches.
