At Green Grove we use the luxuriously smooth Belgian chocolate, and it is organic too. Belgian chocolate is very different to common or compound chocolate, in that Belgian chocolate uses all the cocoa bean rather than substituting other ingredients. The result is a smooth and full flavoured choclate that is actually good for your health.

To many chocolates is a naughty indulgence, but did you know that chocolate was an ancient health tonic, once described as the 'food of the god’s' and prescribed by doctors as a stimulant and a soothing balm.

Aztec Warriors were given chocolate as an energy booster. Kings, noblemen and priests were given chocolate to promote concentration and wisdom.

Montezuma used chocolate as a sexual stimulant and Casanova described chocolate as the 'elixir of love'. So what is the truth? Is chocolate naughty or good? Modern research shows that chocolate contains theobromine. The word literally means 'God’s drink', but more importantly theobromine stimulates the kidneys and the central nervous system and boosts the immune system.

Licorice is a medicinal herb that dates back over 4000 years. Ancient clay tablets describe licorice as the 'elixir of life' for it's cure-all characteristics.
