Return to Maitland

Maitland Fair Market is held at the Maitland Showground from 8.00am to 2.00pm, displaying the best of home made, home grown and home baked goods, artisans, musicians, gourmet food and the finest quality craft ever assembled. With over 600 stalls, Maitland is without rival and represents the epitome of the Hunter Valleys cultural and artistic diversity. Within its industry it is now recognised as the largest and most successful regional Market in Australia.

You won’t find a full sized aeroplane here, but you might just find the kitchen sink! There are some second hand goods on sale, but most of the goods at Maitland are new and a large proportion of them are the amazing work of the creative and predominantly local people who sell them. Maitland Fair Markets are also a vehicle for local charities and a much needed outlet for the arts and crafts people of the Valley. And for visitors most just like to come and experience shopping the way it used to be, at Australia’s largest country market.

They are held on the first Sunday of each month excluding January and also including the third Sundays in October, November and December.
