All of the pottery is hand thrown or hand built and twice fired at the studio. The clays used are guaranteed genuine stoneware or terracotta, suitable for use in ovens, microwaves, freezers and dishwashers, but cannot be used on a flame or hot plate. The pottery is designed not only to be pleasing to the eye but also functional. The glazes capture the colours of Coober Pedy and the Outback and are all lead free.
The view from Underground Potteries overlooks Coober Pedy's famous grassless golf course and Outback race track, towards the panoramic view of the township and dugout ridges.
