Return to Renmark

Mallee Estate is a family owned and run winery established by Peter and Eleni Markeas. It is located in the Riverland region of South Australia. It was established in 1998 on a six-acre vineyard of Shiraz in town of Renmark. The first vineyard was established in 1969 with three acres of Shiraz planted, which was used to make the Mallee Estate Shiraz. Now there are three vineyards all at separate locations in Renmark. This is to take advantage of the different soil types and to grow better and more distinctive grapes for winemaking. All wines are made from estate grown grapes.

The winery has state of the art processing equipment from the destemmer/crusher to the tank press to the temperature-controlled cellar. All processes in the winery are done under the watchful eye of the winemaker to preserve the quality of the fruit through to the bottle. This is apparent in the finished product with the wines being of consistent and exceptional quality. Wine consumers in the USA, Canada, Greece and in Australia love our wines.

After 30 years of experience developing their vineyards the family focus has expanded to producing quality wines. Now the Markeas family would like to share their dream with you. Try our Australian wines that evoke the atmosphere of Greece and warm evening Taverna.
