Lactos is one of Australia’s leading speciality cheesemakers located at Burnie on the north-west coast.

At the Lactos Cheese Tasting and Sales Centre you can sample Lactos’s fine cheeses, including major brands Tasmanian Heritage, Mersey Valley and Australian Gold, and purchase direct from the maker.

Taste the Tasmanian-made varieties such as Swiss cheese, cheddar, brie and the world’s best camembert – Lactos’s Tasmanian Heritage Signature Camembert has been awarded the Best Cheese in its class at the 2006 World Cheese Championships in Wisconsin.
