Some 2400 trees have been planted by volunteers at this 58 hectare site, which displays some of the astonishing wealth of Tasmanian endemic trees.

The arboretum occupies undulating countryside beside the Don River at Eugenana, 10 kilometres south of Devonport, via Spreyton. The many attractions include native bush, limestone outcrops and cliffs, nature trails, a lake with islands, weirs and bridges, and native bird life.

The picnic area alongside the Melrose Creek is furnished with tables, seats and barbecues. There are two lookout arbours at vantage points, a rotunda providing shelter and a kiosk open at weekends.
