Discover the beautifully restored Wonnerup House and Old School near Busselton and take the rare opportunity to step into the life of a pioneer farming family. View the furnished homestead, stables, blacksmiths, school and teacher’s house which are all set amongst exquisite gardens.

Built by one of the early settlers in Busselton, the Layman family established the successful farm in the 1830s amongst the tuart forest which they laboriously cleared by hand.

Wander through the main farmhouse, which was built in 1859 and has been furnished to fit the era. Imagine life for this determined young family. Walk through their earlier house that was converted into a dairy and kitchen following the completion of the main homestead. Visit the one-teacher school where the children were educated and the house built for the teacher who also lived on the grounds.

Allow several hours to explore the entire settlement. Meander through the manicured gardens and take advantage of the nearby picnic area to enjoy lunch in the tranquil surrounds.

Wonnerup House is in Wonnerup, a leisurely 10 minute drive north of Busselton, and three hours drive south of Perth.
