Afghan Cemetery - Wyndham

Return to Wyndham

This cemetery contains the graves of Afghan Camel drivers brought to Australia by Zamen Shar. These drivers carried supplies all over the Kimberley region. They provided the first freight service in the Kimberley.

It is interesting to note that all of the gravestones have been placed so that they face towards Mecca.
