Only 19km south of Brunswick Heads is Cape Byron, the easternmost point in Australia. Ocean Shores lies north of the Brunswick River and offers excellent coastal views from Lions Lookout. The hinterland is also very attractive and visitors can take advantage of the scenic drives and rainforest walks at Minyon Falls and Goonengerry, behind Mullumbimby. The Tyagarah Flora and Nature Reserve is also worthwhile visiting and can be accessed by road and footbridge across the south arm of the Brunswick River.
