This small town is a coastal resort on the northern shores of Port Stephens. Popular as a quiet getaway, Hawks Nest is isolated from the bustle of Nelson Bay. Swimming, boating and fishing and many other watersports are available. Main AttractionsThere are many picnic and BBQ facilities around the area, including several riverfront reserves from Tea Gardens around to Winda Woppa. Both Jimmys and Bennetts beaches have picnic tables and the Lions Park has headland and harbour views. Koala Zone, off Kingfisher Ave, gives visitors the opportunity to see a colony of koalas in their natural habitat. |
