DESTINATION: Moss ValeA Southern Highlands market and tourist town, Moss Vale has become a popular retreat for retirees and home of the Southern Highlands Country Fair. The area is very scenic with sheep, cattle, horses, alpacas and goats feeding on the surrounding lush pastures. Main AttractionsThrosby Park Homestead was built by convicts in 1834, for the nephew of the explorer Charles Throsby. The fine Georgian sandstone and cedar home, now administered by the National Trust, is open for inspection by appointment. Leighton Park, in the centre of Moss Vale, is a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll. The landscaped gardens are lovely in autumn when the deciduous trees display their glorious colours. |
