DESTINATION: NarranderaLying on the north bank of the Murrumbidgee River, Narrandera is surrounded by a district devoted to cereal crops, wool, fruit, lambs and cattle. It is the gateway to the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and is located 570km SW of Sydney. Main AttractionsThe Royal Doulton ceramic fountain, located in Victoria Square, is a memorial for those people who served in WWI. Narrandera Park has picnic areas and features include aviaries, a miniature zoo and a fully restored DH82 Tiger Moth. The Bundidgerry Walking Track, which goes through the Nature Reserve, is the place to see koalas in the wild. |

Nearby attractions
The John Lake Centre at the Inland Fisheries Research Station is open to the public weekdays, 9am-4.30pm. Tours of the centre feature live exhibits, displays and audio-visual presentations. The centre is located 5km south of Narrandera. Craigtop Deer Farm is 8km NW and is open daily 9am-5pm. Tours are available and visitors can also hand-feed the pet deer. Lake Talbot is a popular attraction for skiing, boating and fishing.
