Temora

The rail centre for the rich wheat and sheep belt of the Riverina, Temora is located 460km SW of Sydney. The town is also recognised as a centre for harness racing and there are many trotting studs in the district. Races are held regularly.

Temora has a range of sporting clubs and venues. For the adventurous, a skydiving company operates from the airport. Visitors are welcome at the Temora Ex-Services Memorial Club, the Bowling Club and the Golf Club.

Nearby attractions

Lake Centenary, 4km from Temora on the West Wyalong Rd, is a popular venue for picnics and watersports including boating, canoeing, sailing, swimming and fishing. Ariah Park, 34km west, is a village listed by the National Trust as a Conservation Area. Notable buildings include the Lyons' Wool Store, the hotel, and the Westpac and National banks. Therapeutic benefits are claimed for the Mineral Pool at nearby Barmedman.
