DESTINATION: The EntranceA commercial fishing centre and busy tourist resort, The Entrance is renowned for its fishing, surfing, swimming and picturesque scenery. Typical of many seaside resorts on the Central Coast, The Entrance is situated between the coast and the quiet waters of Tuggerah Lake. Main AttractionsPelicans can be seen everywhere on Central Coast waterways and are now the tourist symbol of The Entrance. Hundreds of pelicans gather for the Pelican Feeding at 3.30pm daily, at Memorial Park, off Marine Pde. Another local attraction is the Shell Museum at Dunleith Caravan Park, where local memorabilia and old photographs complement the extensive shell collection. All forms of watersports are available at The Entrance. There are boat ramps on each side of The Entrance Bridge and picnic facilities can be found in the recreation areas facing the lake. |
