Palmerston | Northern Territory

Palmerston, named after the British prime minister of the time, was the original name for Darwin. Now it is a satellite town, just 22km along the Stuart Hwy. Palmerston is the fastest-growing community in the Territory.

Main Attractions

Marlow Lagoon Regional Park attracts birdlife and provides an attractive recreation area for picnicking and year-round swimming. Palmerston's multi-cultural society is reflected in the colourful Frances Mall markets held every Friday evening in the Dry season.
