DESTINATION: BargaraThis popular surf beach is the site of the world's first artificially created surfing point-break. Located 13km east of Bundaberg, Bargara is the largest and closest of Bundaberg's seaside townships. Main AttractionsA temperate climate and year-round sunshine provide ample opportunities to swim, surf, windsurf and sail at Kelly's and Nielson Park beaches. Bundaberg Surf Lifesaving Club patrols both beaches, but Kelly's is more attractive to families with small children due to its calm-water swimming area known as Money's Creek. Excellent diving and snorkelling is available just off Bargara Beach. Coral diving sites here are some of the closest to the Australian mainland. |
