Surrounded by the hills of the Great Dividing Range known as the Scenic Rim, Boonah is located in the heart of the scenic Fassifern district, just over an hour's drive from Brisbane and one hour from the Gold Coast.


Main Attractions

The town's art gallery is located in Highbury St and features leadlight displays, local artworks and sculptures. The information centre has details on a broad range of activities, including gliding and ultralight flight tours. Boonah is located in one of the most picturesque areas of Queensland and its rugged mountains, lakes and valleys attract many visitors. Bushwalking is popular given the many scenic walking tracks surrounding the town.

Main Range NP, 35km west, is part of the Scenic Rim and offers many picturesque drives, bushwalking, trail riding, rockclimbing and various watersports. Cunninghams Gap Lookout offers panoramic views and Lake Moogerah has picnic areas and is a popular spot for sailing, fishing and waterskiing. South of the lake lies Moogerah Peaks NP, which is made up of several small parks, rocky cliffs and volcanic peaks, including Mount French.
