DESTINATION: HughendenThis town lies on the banks of Queensland's longest river, the Flinders, 383km SW of Townsville. The town is located on the Flinders Hwy and significant fossil finds in the area have prompted the name 'Dinosaur Highway'. The Dinosaur Display Centre, located at the rear of the information centre in Gray St, has a full size replica of Muttaburrasaurus langdoni, a pre-historic, bird-footed herbivorous dinosaur that once roamed the area. |
