During crushing season June-Dec, weekday tours of Farleigh Sugar Mill can be arranged. Demonstrations of planting, harvesting and cutting of sugarcane can be seen at Polestone Cane Farm, June-Dec. Eungella NP, located at the top of the Clarke Range, 79km west, offers stunning valley views, 20km of rainforest walks and the opportunity to see the elusive platypus. There are more than 30 beaches within a 45min drive from the city.
