Moranbah

Situated on the Denham Range, Moranbah is 200km SW of Mackay. This town was purpose-built in the 1970s to service the employees of Goonyella and Peak Downs open-cut coal mines.


Main Attractions

Town Square has a Mediterranean feel with many cafes and restaurants offering alfresco dining. There is a campdraft in July, which is a festival highlighting the traditional skills of stockmen, and a rodeo in October.
