DESTINATION: MouraThis small town is located 69km from Biloela and lies in the heart of the Dawson Valley. Moura services the surrounding rural and coal-mining communities. The town has a large and permanent storage depot for various grains, including wheat, sunflower, barley and maize. Cattle, cotton and peanuts are also important rural industries. Main AttractionsApex Park at the Dawson River, a few kilometres from town, is a popular fishing, boating, swimming and picnic area. Unique to Moura is the local dairy where the family-owned business processes milk from cow to carton on the premises. A drive past the coal mine provides a good view of the huge dragline at work. |
