Noosa Heads

The well-known resort town of Noosa Heads is situated on the edge of Noosa NP and Laguna Bay. Not only does the town offer many beaches and safe swimming year-round, it is also the gateway to the stunning Noosa River Everglades and Cooloola NP.


Main Attractions

Hastings St, the main street of Noosa Heads, offers many restaurants, cafes, galleries and boutiques. Main Beach offers safe swimming and is the most popular beach for families. Noosa NP is only a short walk from Hastings St. This 477ha park provides many walking tracks through rainforest, past small coves, rugged coastal rock formations and interesting coastal heathlands.

The Great Sandy NP is 14km north, and although Noosa River separates it from Noosa Heads, it is accessible via ferry from Tewantin. The multicoloured sand cliffs, known as the Coloured Sands are located in this park. Activities offered include bushwalking, camel riding, horseriding and surfing. Noosaville is a family-style resort town, located 5km north. Parks surround the Noosa River, which is filled with pelicans, dinghies, catamarans and houseboats. Eumundi, 24km SW, is best known for its Saturday morning markets.
