This attractive town is located in the foothills of the Connors Range, 36km south of Mackay.


Main Attractions

The Rose Gardens, located in Broad St, form part of the Sarina Tourist Art and Craft Centre complex which is housed in the old Court House in Railway Sq. The centre offers arts and crafts and local and regional information. The Field of Dreams is a historical museum in Broad St. Waterways in the area yield barramundi, flathead, whiting, bream, grunter, salmon and cod. Prawns and crabs are plentiful in season.

Nearby attractions

There are many unspoilt beaches within close proximity to Sarina, including Sarina Beach, 16km NE, fringed by high sand dunes; there is a lifesaving club, 2 boat ramps and sheltered bay that is ideal for fishing. Other beaches include Armstrong, Grasstree, Salonika and Half Tide. Cape Palmerston NP is located 78km SE, but offers 4WD access only. Bartons Lookout, 14km SW in the Sarina Range, offers panoramic views of the coastline and countryside.
