The best way to explore the town is by following the route in the Heritage Walk leaflet prepared by the National Trust of Queensland and available from the information centre. A highlight of the Heritage Walk is the Lake Eacham Hotel, which has a display of historic photographs depicting the area's early sawmilling days. There are many art and craft galleries to browse through and the town also offers good restaurants. At Peterson Creek, on the Gillies Hwy, there is a platypus-viewing platform. Best times to visit are at sunrise and sunset. |
