DESTINATION: Nuriootpa
Located on the North Para River at the northern end of the Barossa Valley, Nuriootpa is a commercial and service centre with a number of government agencies and offices. Production facilities and huge tanks sited alongside the railway line attest to the fact that winemaking is big business in the district. A viticultural research station is located on the outskirts of town. Main AttractionsThe early influence of German settlers is still reflected in the food outlets of the town, with locally produced food and wine featured on the menus.
