DESTINATION: Beauty Point
Beauty Point lies 48km NW of Launceston on the Tamar River, and was originally established as a port for the Beaconsfield gold mine. The port facilities now service the Australian Maritime College. Main AttractionsThis is a popular centre for fishing and yachting. A seahorse farm, the world's first, breeds common and endangered seahorses. These fascinating sea creatures can be viewed at Seahorse World, with its many other attractions which include a restaurant and wine centre. |
