Beauty Point

Beauty Point lies 48km NW of Launceston on the Tamar River, and was originally established as a port for the Beaconsfield gold mine. The port facilities now service the Australian Maritime College.


Main Attractions

This is a popular centre for fishing and yachting. A seahorse farm, the world's first, breeds common and endangered seahorses. These fascinating sea creatures can be viewed at Seahorse World, with its many other attractions which include a restaurant and wine centre.

The holiday destinations of Kelso and Greens Beach are to the north-west on Port Dalrymple. Narawntapu (Asbestos Range) NP, 25km NW, has exhilarating coastal walks and views.
