Bridport on Anderson Bay, 85km NE from Launceston, developed as a port for the timber, agricultural and mining industries; it still retains its seaport atmosphere.

Pipers Brook Vineyard the most recognised Tasmanian wine label, is 18km SW. Bridport is an ideal base for exploring the rugged north-east coastline. Flinders Island, the largest of the Furneaux Group in Bass Strait, is accessible either by car ferry or light plane. This holiday island for the adventurous has beautiful beaches, unique wildlife, fishing, diving, bushwalks and Strzelecki NP, dominated by Mount Strzelecki (756m).
