Other activities include boating, fishing, gem-fossicking and visiting orchards and wineries. Apple, pear and wattle blossoms colour the local landscape from September to October. The spectacular free-falling Pelverata Falls are 20km north on Sandfly Rd. The Deepings Woodturners, at Nicholls Rivulet 10km east, make beautiful high-quality dolls, bowls and other items from Tasmanian timbers, especially sassafras. Talune Wildlife Park and Koala Gardens, 6km SE at Gardners Bay, is a mostly free-range wildlife park with native wildlife, including platypus, wombats and of course Tasmanian devils. latest stories
