DESTINATION: DeloraineDeloraine is a rich agricultural centre nestling in a valley encircled by Quamby Bluff and the Western Tiers and renowned for its stunning scenery. There are many other buildings of historic interest, including the attractive 1853 colonial building that is now Bowerbank Mill Gallery. At Elizabeth Town, 10km NW, English-style cheeses can be sampled at Ashgrove Farm and raspberry products at Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm. A honey factory, Trowunna Wildlife Park and Mole Creek Caves (including the glow-worm filled Marakoopa Cave and King Solomon's Cave) are among the attractions around Mole Creek, 20km west. There are many pretty waterfalls in the district, including Lobster Falls (15km west), Westmoreland Falls (10km SW), Montana Falls (9km SW), Meander Falls in Meander Forest Reserve (22km SW) and Liffey Falls (29km south). A scenic drive south through Golden Valley to the Central Highlands leads to Great Lake, where the trout fishing is excellent.
