Geeveston

Geeveston developed as a business centre for the timber industry based on the eucalypts and rainforests of its rugged hinterland. It is also a gateway to Tasmania's Southwest World Heritage Area.

Main Attractions

The Forest and Heritage Centre presents a vibrant window on the local timber industry, with visual and interactive displays. Hartz Gallery exhibits antique machinery and the works of local craftspeople. Geeveston Highlands Salmon and Trout Fishery allows fly-fishing sport for Atlantic salmon, rainbow and brown trout on a catch-and-release basis.
