Mole Creek is located 74km south of Devonport, nestled at the foot of the Great Western Tiers. It is the heart of the surrounding farming and forestry district.

Mole Creek Karst NP has several spectacular limestone caves, of which the best known are Marakoopa Cave, 8km west which has a wonderful glow-worm display, and King Solomons Cave, 16km west. Guided tours of these caves as well as to wild undeveloped caves are available. Devils Gullet, 40km SE, is an impressive natural lookout over the Fisher River Valley. Trowunna Wildlife Park is 4km east and Alum Cliffs Gorge 3km NE. There are 4WD tours to the Mersey Valley and fly-fishing tours to local streams. Experienced bushwalkers head for Walls of Jerusalem NP, 45km SW.
