Taranna | Tasmania

Taranna, 90km's south east of Hobart, Tasmania, has a selection of accommodation and some attractions.

The settlement is to the north of the Port Arthur Historic Site, situated on the Tasman Peninsula.
Taranna is said to be home to the first railway in Australia and was powered using human horsepower.  The human railway ran from the Little Norfolk Bay jetty to the prison and was created to save the many ships from the hazardous journey around Cape Roul.
