Lying near the source of the Murray River, this town is the Victorian gateway to the Snowy Mountains and Kosciuszko NP.

Main Attractions

The mountain location and excellent trout streams draw many visitors to the area. Other activities include scenic drives, canoeing, white-water rafting, cycling and 4WD tracks. Canoes and cycles can be hired at Walwa, 50km NW of Corryong. Jack Riley, the man generally accepted as the character in the Man from Snowy River, Banjo Paterson's epic poem, was buried at Corryong Cemetery in 1914.
