DESTINATION: InverlochThis small seaside town is situated on Anderson Inlet, 150km SE of Melbourne. The many surfing beaches make Inverloch a popular destination for surfers and families. Main AttractionsGrouped together in the foreshore reserve are the Environment Centre, where Inverloch Shell Museum displays one of the best private collections of shells in Australia and Rainbow Park, a colourful children's play area and picnic spot. Inverloch is located in South Gippsland and its coastline has many attractions. Mangroves grow here at their southern limit, and, when the tide is out, it is possible to walk over the sands of the inlet and see the mangroves fully exposed. There are many rockpools to explore. Fishing, birdwatching, sailing and windsurfing are also popular activities. |
