Metung

Metung is a picturesque maritime village on the tranquil waters of the Gippsland Lakes and surrounded by gentle green hills and sandy beaches. With over 400 square kilometres of water to explore, the region is a haven for anyone seeking aquatic leisure.

How to get there

Metung is approximately three and a half hours drive from Melbourne just near Lakes Entrance, off the Princes Highway from Bairnsdale.

  • Visit artists' studios in Metung and Nungurer
  • Go fishing, flathead, mulloway and bream can be caught in Bancroft Bay, off Shaving Point and the jetties
