Mornington | Victoria

First settled in the 1840s, Mornington is now a growing residential area which retains its seaside village atmosphere. Its location makes it a good base for exploring the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

Main Attractions

The many historic buildings in town now house cafes and gift, book, antique and boating shops. Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery houses a permanent collection of 1200 works and features many touring exhibitions. The collection includes works by Arthur Boyd, Brett Whiteley, Violet Teagul, Sidney Nolan and Russell Drysdale. The National Antique Centre and World of Motorcycles Museum are in Tyabb Rd. The old Post Office on the corner of High St and The Esplanade, houses a local historical display. Unspoilt beaches around the town include Mothers Beach, where the town's fishing fleet, yacht club and boatshed are located and Fossil Beach, which lies on the border with Mount Martha.
