DESTINATION: Yarra Ranges National Park

Established in 1995, Yarra Ranges NP, about 100km NE of Melbourne, is home to some of Australia"s tallest trees. Much of the park"s 760km are set aside for water catchment and not open to the public. Elsewhere there are scenic drives, walking tracks and picnic areas. In winter, there are opportunities for cross-country skiing or snow play at Mount Donna Buang and Lake Mountain. Approach the park via Warburton, Healesville or Marysville.
