Halls Creek

Halls Creek is the site of Western Australia's first payable gold discovery in 1885. The township, 2855km NE of Perth, is located at the centre of the Kimberley, adjacent to the Great Sandy Desert. Today it services local Aboriginal communities, pastoralists, and tourists seeking access to nearby national parks.

Main Attractions

Russian Jack Memorial, on Thomas St, is a tribute to a gold digger who pushed his sick friend 300km in a wheelbarrow to seek medical help in Wyndham. Also in town is an art outlet on the Duncan Hwy selling quality local Aboriginal art.
