I fell in love with Van Diemans Land when first I visited in 1973. I wanted to move to this beautiful island, but alas it was not to be. Twenty nine years would elapse before I would return on a romantic exploration of Tasmania. After staying at a lovely B&B (Seachange) located at Safety Cove on the incredible Tasman Peninsula, we chanced upon a two story house overlooking Possum Beach near Port Arthur. The house was for sale and we contacted the local real estate agent for an inspection. We crossed the threshold into the superbly timbered upstairs lounge area with panoramic views over Carnarvon Bay and knew that was it!!!! I asked the estate agent if the price was negotiable - his reply "No". My response "We'll take it". Half an hour later with contracts signed we were on our way to Bruny Island for Christmas. As we currently live and work in Victoria, Burilda Waters was established to allow us to share this inviting house and tranquil environment with others wanting to explore the fabulous Tasman Peninsula. One day we hope to call this place home.
