Stone Bridge Tours

Discover the beauty, wonder, enjoyment, and surprises that are a part of nature, rural life and the Australian bush through an exclusive 4 Wheel Drive Nature/Farm Eco Tour on our 4,400 acre Snowy Mountains grazing property, Worongah. Stone Bridge Tours offer spectacular natural rock sculptures, breath taking vistas over the Snowy Mountain Ranges, the legendary Snowy River, magnificent cliffs and waterfalls, as you travel through the native Black Cypress forests. Highlights include the Matong Gorge and the unique Stone Bridge. Experience a working Snowy Mountains superfine merino sheep grazing property first hand with your personal guide. Explore the majestic Matong Gorge where Matong Creek carves a spectacular gorge of rugged precipices hundreds of feet deep, around the foot of Wobbyong Mountain, as it plunges down to join the Snowy River. Enjoy a break at a Balancing Rock lookout with home made biscuits and cakes, and soak up the views to the Snowy River. In the Black Cypress forest of the gorge rim, listen to that Australian Master of Mimicry, the Lyre Bird, exhibiting his repertoire. Visit the shearing shed to shear a sheep; feel the silky white wool used in the highest quality fashions. Enjoy a hearty shearer’s lunch and country hospitality at the homestead. Travel the 4 wheel drive tracks to the unique Stone Bridge where the Snowy River disappears beneath a labyrinth of vast granite boulders, threading its way through holes, cracks and fissures to emerge hundreds of meters downstream, continuing on its journey to the coast. Through the eons the legendary Snowy River has used snow melt, sand and stones to carve this natural granite barrier into a unique fantasy of flutes, ripples, holes and pools. Intricately carved shapes fit to grace an art gallery according to the Australian Geographic Book, “The Snowy Mountains”. The Stone Bridge is a sight to inspire awe and a photographers delight.
