Deniliquin is an oasis of green on the edge of the hot dry Riverine plain, which stretches northwards in what is the flattest land on earth – Welcome to the

beginning of the outback. Arriving from any direction, Denilquin offers a welcome respite and an inviting place to break your trip – to stay overnight or

even longer. Deniliquin is an ideal stopover enroute to Shear Outback in Hay.

Deniliquin is situated on the Edward River, in the centre of Riverina sheep station country and on the fringe of Australia’s largest redgum forest, where bird

and wildlife abound. The natural attractions of the region offer the chance to sit back and enjoy doing nothing or to get out and make the most of the local

hospitality.

The Peppin Heritage Centre, which incorporates the Visitor Information Centre is an ideal starting point when you arrive in Deniliquin. The building was

Deniliquin’s first public school and has now been transformed into a regional museum.
