Air New Zealand Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival - Sydney CBD and Suburbs

18th Air New Zealand Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival will be held in Sydney from 26 September to 3 October 2010.

Organisers expect over 200 teams from 18 nations to attend the week long Festival that will be based at the Centennial Parklands near the Sydney central business district.

The Air New Zealand Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival is held every two years and players must be over 35 years in age with no maximum age limit.

It’s a celebration of fun, friendship and fraternity where no scores are kept and there are no losers.

The festival includes opening with a traditional parade of participants and floats from Town Hall to the Entertainment Centre. A business expo, a visit to the Hunter Valley vineyards and other social functions will be held in association with the festival.

Last held in Sydney in 1983, the Golden Oldies Rugby Festival has taken place around the world since 1979 and is now the biggest rugby festival in the world.
